Dear Rare Breeds Canada Member.
The mobile lab from U.of SK will be visiting Eastern Canada in the fall of 2018 collecting semen from registered bulls & rams.
Its usually Ontario & Quebec but they would be interested in travelling further east if enough interest is shown.
Reliable restraining equipment(chute system)is necessary for the bovine collection.
Attached is the donation agreement which is required.
There are two choices regarding the final collected & frozen semen:
Option 1:100% of semen can be donated to the CAGR Gene Bank and a donation receipt will be issued to the owner for the full value, by CAGR. The semen is not retrievable with this option.
Option 2: The owner can keep half of the semen for on-farm use; the other half is donated to the CAGR GeneBank at U.of SK.
Please contact RBC for more details of possible RBC Donation receipt with this option.
This preferred option benefits the potential use of the collected semen, thanks to the generous help & support of the Team at U.of SK.
Look forward to hearing from you at your earliest convenience if you should be interested, so the Team can organize their schedule well in advance.
Please don't hesitate to contact us at rbc@rarebreedscanada.org for more information.
Feel free to share this email with other interested Heritage registered breeders that would welcome working with RBC.
Many thanks,
Pam Heath.
